Miraculous technology in impossibly small package
( - 6/19/06)Six megapixels, a Leica lens, antishake technology, rapid-fire sequential picture taking capability, quick battery recovery for flash, and unprecedentedly large viewing screen add up to an incredibly effective camera package. A convenient picture mode wheel near firing button enables quick selection of movie, sports, closeup, simple, complex, and view modes. Lack of viewfinder is the tradeoff for viewing screen that occupies nearly whole back of camera. This turned out to actually have an advantage. After practice I could be just as accurate as viewfinder by just aiming - and much faster than using viewfinder.
I am a bit worried by one of the reviewers who claims poor service. But I cannot imagine how two reviewers could have gotten "fuzzy" pictures, given the antishake technology, and the longstanding Japanese emphasis on product testing. Maybe the problem is "one or two star user capability" not problem with product.
