More question to Mr. James Deruvo: how can reset the firmware of camera?

Dear Mr. James DeRuvo,
Thank you very much for your answer to my last question. I keep my camera in good condition, so perhaps the problem involves in firmware troubles as you pointed. But can you tell me how to reset the firmware? Do I have to go to a camera shop to ask them for repare it or I can do by myself with the CD disks attached to the camera when I bought it?
I am looking forwards your answer.
Best regards,
Truong Quang Truong

This is a fairly easy procedure which involves either going into your setup menu and choosing "reset" (or intialize), holding down the menu key for 5 seconds, or, removing the batteries for a few minutes. It may be that the firmware loading got corrupted and the camera just needs to be "rebooted," which is something that turning it on/off won't accomplish. But after which, you should have the
camera reset to factory default settings.

Not really sure for your camera specifically, but if you check your manual, there is a procedure.

I have the same problem and tried James DeRuvos' suggestion. The only thing I accomplished was that the lense doesn' t close at all now.

Any other suggestions?

I'd try it several time, Alexandra. Not just once. Also, cycle the camera on/off a few times to see if the lens retracts. Absent htat, you may be looking at a repair.

Sorry but it doesn't work. I tried many times following your advice but the problems still remain.
