Nalin,

If you're looking for a teleconverter for your Panasonic DMC-FZ30, then you might want to try the Panasonic DMW-LW55 for wide angle conversions (DMW-LA2 adapter needed). Any teleconverter with a 55mm ring will work with this adapter.

Check out the Olympus TCON 17 and WCON 07 & 08, fit well, very reasonably priced but may be har dto find. Check Ebay, Olympus was running lots of them with reduced prices, refurbished or new with damaged boxes, warranties included.

The Nikon TC-E17ED is a great one as well, but you'll need a 55mm-60mm step up ring with it. Might be tough to find, however.

how can a teleconverter be used on the FZ-30 when the lens does not come off? (I love mine 'machine' btw)

A teleconverter screws onto the end.
