Just what I've been looking for!
( - 6/28/06)I've been an amateur photographer for many years, used to own a pretty decent 35mm camera with an incredible wide-angle telephoto zoom lens (cost more than all the rest of my equipment), and when it was stolen, decided to go digital...I bought almost all of the Nikon Coolpix cameras, but wasn't really happy with any of them...although I took them to Europe two times and got some pretty nice picture...I happened to read in PC Magazine about a bunch of computer geeks at a convention all taking pictures of each other with the same camera...the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30, and decided to give it a try...WOW!! I am totally impressed with this camera, I think I've found a camera I will be happy with for a while...I live in the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains in California, and have incredible scenery all around me to photograph. I haven't mastered all the bells and whistles of this camera, I have a 1.0gb card and think I would like two 2.0gb cards for my next trip to Europe, I just ordered a protective filter for the camera, and already have a spare battery...I can't say enough good things about this camera, for the price, I think it is just about the best digital camera on the market right now.
