Hi Jonathan,

Koday's EasyShare line are among the easiest-to-use cameras on the market today. Most of them offer very good image quality, solid automatic shooting modes, and, as I said, great ease of use. The EasyShare C743, for example, earned DCHQ's Editor's Choice award for best beginner digital camera. It's got a great 7 megapixel sensor, lots of features tailored to beginners (in-camera red-eye reduction, photo touchups, etc), and intuitive controls. If I had to make a recommendation with no other qualifications than ease of use, it's the one I'd make. Good luck!

The C743 that Ben mentioned (or its cousin the C643) are both ridiculously easy to use. You literally pick them up and put in the batteries and turn them on. Downloading photos takes seconds, too. They are pretty much foolproof, and excellent image quality plus fast response times too.

My sister was the shutter bug in our family. She would shoot rolls and rolls of film on each of our numerous events. She claimed that she was fine without digi cameras. Hard sell. Then she received a birthday present and it was a C743 camera. Now she says "what took so long to get a simple to use camera as this. I have no room in my life for technical "gadgets". This camera will now be my main picture taking platform. She thanked her brother at CBS TV Hollywood for enlightning her on Digital Photography!
