can the FX37 live view histogram be seen at the same time as exposure compensation so that you can see the effect of changes?

The Panasonic FX37 does offer a live histogram. You have to go in the setup menu and turn this feature on. That will allow you to check exposures before pressing the shutter. Hope this helps!

Thanks, Mr C. What I really want to know is whether the histogram can be displayed whilst you are using the exposure compensation adjustment so that you can see straight away if you have made the correct change.

I think so. If you have the feature enabled, it should reflect any changes you apply to the image.
