An Opportunity for Creativity
(coastcontact - 6/5/09)This is my second digital camera. The first was a Canon A70. Like that point and shoot camera it has a full range of manual options that provide results you have always dreamed of obtaining. Although the camera looks like an SLR there is no interchangeable lens and it weighs less than 15 ounces with the battery installed.
How good? I zoomed to the end of my block and photographed a house as if I were immediately in front. It was about 700 feet away. A wide angle photo allowed me to capture the entire main hall of Union Station in Los Angeles including a table less than 10 feet from the camera and everything was crystal clear. Zoom out and focus on something up close and you obtain the effect of depth of field that you might want when shooting pictures the president or just your dog. The high ISO ratings enable many indoor pictures without using the flash.
The viewfinder or LCD viewing option provides a feature that is fast disappearing from cameras but you will appreciate. The manual is easy to understand and the controls are easy to use.
The long lens will prevent you from putting the camera in your pocket. However because its so light in weight you might forget the strap is around your neck.
If you want really extraordinary results you will love this camera.
