Hello Michael , I think your camera is probably working normal. I know cameras give you info. on the LCD screen and in the view finder. You need to be aware of the settings to get a good picture , So they usually put it where you can easily see it. You are learning so all the information at once may be overwhelming. Look in your operators manual and find out what each indicator means. They are telling you what your camera is set at as well as suggestions to set camera at for a good picture.Take some pictures and see how they come out. Use what the camera suggests then set it from one extreme to the other and see how they compare. Give me a little more information about the indicators and I will help you find the answers. Also any other questions you have just ask.

JA is correct. There's alot of things going on and the LCD menu is giving you the information. Good news is that if you don't care for it, you can probably go into the settings menu under LCD or Display and simply turn it off.

Just keep pressing the display button, this will show several screens with different info on. Just settle for the one which you think is ok for you
