panasonic lumix lense will not come out. display screen says to turn camera off then back on

I can access pictures on my camera. It just want let me take any. The lense will not come out and it displays a message stating to turn camera off then back on. This does not do anything. message is still there. what can i do

Sounds like the lens may be out of alignment. Cycling the camera on/off several times could permit the lens to work it's way back into alignment. But whatever you do, do NOT try and force it open. If it doesn't free itself, it'll need to go in for repair.

But understand that the cost of the repair may be more than it's worth to fix. Rule of thumb says that if it costs north of 50% what you paid, you're better off buying a new camera.

But I'm betting you'll be able to work it's way free if you're patient.
