Please comment re CGR s007A as opposed to CGA s007, also ahm for replacement batteries for TZ5?

I have purchased the Panasonic TZ5 which I love, but I would like more info regarding replacement batteries that are reasonable in price, the correct model battery and long lasting with good performance.

Here's the thing. If you go outside the recommended battery models/types you could run into camera operating issues like lens errors. Also, some cheaper batteries may overheat, thereby causing damage. And you really want to avoid buying batteries on auction sites because there are counterfeit batteries out there which could even explode.

Others here say you can get some cheaper batteries, but if you do, you run the risk of voiding your warranty if he battery overheats and affects your camera.

Thank you for the advice. I don't want to void the warranty or ruin my camera trying to save a few dollars. I really like the TZ5 for my everyday take everywhere camera. Great pics, good color, easy and intuitive to use.

I believe the difference between CGA-S007 and CGA-S007A is in the charge holding capacity. S007 is rated at 850mAh while S007A is 1000mAh, so that means S007A will let you take about 1.17 times more photos than a S007.
