TZ5 won't turn on

I used my camera for a few hours, but when I got home and tried to view the pictures, the camera wouldn't turn on. I recharged the battery, but that did not make a difference. There is absolutely no response when I turn the power on. Any ideas?

Try taking out the battery and clean the contacts with a pencil eraser. In fact, leave the battery out for a few hours to let the capacitors dissipate. Then put it back in. Did you drop it at all?

I have a new TZ5 that I purchased in August 09 that won't power on either! It was taking great pics until the battery died. I recharged and put it in the battery, but nothing happens. Called panasonic and arranging to send it back for repairs.
