This camera does NOT have live view so the LCD is only for image review AND information guide while in shooting modes. However, that should not be a major drawback since the viewfinder has 96% coverage. I guess the only problem would be if you wear eyeglasses though the viewfinder does have a diopter adjustment that might solve that potential problem.
