Great DSL Camera
( - 7/1/05)I tried several SLR cameras, prior to purchase. *ist DS was the lightest, smallest of the bunch. My impression was that the Pentax had the brightest viewfinder and the a large 2x2 lcd screen so I could review my pictures. But most of all the camera body had a comfortable "feel".
If the camera does not feel right, not withstanding all of its good features, you don't pick it up. So this was very important.
The features are easy to learn, such as resetting ISO speed on the fly, metering mode, etc. The picture quality is ex cellant, a tad soft on sharpness (I do not shoot in raw mode) but I 'touch up' all of my pics on photoshop anyway, so it is not a problem.
