I have a 20+ year old Pentax ME Super, which is basically worn out, however, I have several nice lenses for this camera. Would they be usable on the K10D body?

The Pentax K10D accepts the following lens types: Pentax K- / KA- /KAF- / KAF2-mount lenses.

From what I can tell, the Pentax ME Super featured a K-mount lens, so you should be totally compatible! Pentax is really good about ensuring that users can bring their old lenses to their new cameras.

What about 50-year old Pentax K1000 lenses made in Japan? Should they be used with the K10D? Are better lenses made now?

If by 'compatible' you mean only that it will fit on the body, and can be used in fully manual mode (focus and exposure), then all Pentax bayonet-mount lenses are compatible with the K10. However, only the later lenses have autofocus and auto exposure capabilities with the K10.

I've had problems with nonPentax manual focus, auto-diaphragm lenses with my istDS SLR. Basically the batteries simply drain out/discharge. Not sure that the K10D is an improvement in this "universal K-mount" label. Pentax lenses work fine. Other than the autofocus, which I would certainly expect to have been improved with the K10D, the istDS (now obsolete) has been a versatile and awesome camera that allows for a lot of photographic control.

Can the lens from the pentax super program camera be used on my me super? I gues i need to know if it has a manual setting besides the auto feature.

I have an older Pentax (That uses film) with screw on lenses and was told my lenses would fit on a newer digital camera but in reading these comments it seems that only the bayonet style lenses will fit. Is there a digital model that I will be able to use my lenses on.
