how is aperture set with lens that has not aperture ring

If I use an ME lens on a K10 body how does the camera set the aperture internally and do I need to set lens aperture to maximum.

If it works like the K100D (and it should), you can use your aperature ring just like you do on any pentax camera. On the K100D, it doesn't detect the aperature, so if you want to automatically set the shutter speed, you have to push a button and it closes down for an instant to read and set correct exposure.

Only thing that gets messy is trying to use an old lens with the new digital-ready flash. I haven't practiced enough yet, but you have to do some manual settings on the flash to get everything to work.

If you're using the lens that comes in the kit (no aperature ring), you set the f-stop with the thumb wheel on the camera.
