pentax k20d; entering lens focal length

I am using pentax screw-mount lens of 400mm combined with a 3x teleconverter (a good one)..do i enter lens length of 400? intuitively, i would think i should enter 1200mm, but of course, it only allows up to 800 mm. Advice? I don't care about metering, i just want to be able to utilize the anti-shake effectively.

It's not really 1200mm. It's still 400mm, it just magnifies the lens, so you're essentially getting from 800mm-1200mm - sort of.

But the nice thing about digital is that you can experiment with different values and if you don't like how it comes out, you just hit delete and start over. But even if you have the right values entered, 400mm is still a challenge for camera shake and you should consider adding a monopod at the very least, especially when using that 3xTC which will magnify camera shake as well - even with IS, which can only do so much.
