slowest camera with poorest battery life imaginable

After a year of trying to be patient I am done with this piece of garbage.
I literally got mad and threw it in the garbage can.
It has such severe shutter lag, I always missed the shots I was trying for.
And it eats batteries so bad on a recent snowmobile trip I had to carry 10 spare sets of batteries to get me through the day.
I dug out my old trust 35mm Nikon for last weekends snowmobile trip, and never missed a shot, or changed batteries all weekend.
I want a digital for the convenience of emailing to family/friends etc. but will never own another one without a thorough testing before I buy to see if it actually works okay.
My film camera is back in use, and the shopping has started to try and find a relatively small digital that is not completely useless like the Pentax was !
