Editors' Comments

The 5-megapixel Pentax Optio 555 packs an impressive feature set into a remarkably small metal body. Released in the fall of 2003, the Optio 555 is the successor to Pentax's popular Optio 550. In response to customers' complaints about its predecessor's slow startup time, the Optio 555 is redesigned to start up almost instantly. Like the 550, this camera offers a 5x optical zoom, which is unusually large for a camera of its size.
