Weakness of the Pentax Optio 750Z camera

( - 1/3/05) The weak link of this camera is the lens cover. Twice it has stuck on me, once I was able to free it by removing a piece of dust. But this time I had to return it to the Pentax for repair. The shutter over the lens protects the lens, but it is so fragile there needs to be something to protect it. The quality of the pictures seems to decrease at the top end of the optical zoom. The quality of the image really fades in the digital zoom. At times the shutter is slow to activate even on still shots. For action shots forget it the autofocus is way to slow. The picture quality is very good when using the low - mid range of the optical zoom and the color is also very good. What would make it better is a capability to hot shoe a larger flash. It is not as durable as the old spotmatic or k1000 cameras.
