I sell coins on ebay. sometimes this camera takes a nice close pic and most of the time it is soooooooo out of focus. Piece of junk.

I use macro setting to take pics but it is useless and this camera will make you go broke buying batteries and charging old ones.

WarTheck, is there a question here? There are things you can do to improve your macro shots. Namely proper lighting in a soft box and using a tripod to steady the camera.

It is out of focus regardless of tricks and tips - I have been having problems with this camera for over a year....actually glad to know it is not just me. Batteries are a huge issue. Has anyone had luck with the manufacturer?

Well, chances are you may be having focus issues. I'd try resetting your camera and seeing if Pentax has a firmware update for it. But in the end, you may need to send it in for servicing. And since it's probably already past it's warranty period, the cost to repair it may be more than the camera is really worth, since the average repair is about $180. Better to take that money and get a better, more advanced model.
