is there any way i can undo a format and get all my pictures back?

i accidentally pushed ok to to Format, not knowing exactly what it would do...and all of my new holiday pictures are completely erased!

Your pictures will be there, as long as you don't overwrite it by taking new pictures.

Go to this site and you will find the software you need to recover the pictures.
Alternatively you can also try the photo recovery software at this site .

The procedure is quite simple.: take your memory card out of the camera, insert it into a card reader and plug the reader to the USB port of the computer.
The software, preinstalled in the computer, will identify all the pictures in the card and allow you to copy them to a folder in the computer.

If you spend some time searching the net for " photorecovery", you might be able to get one or two free software that do the same thing but with limited capabilities, something like not able to recover RAW files but has no problem with recovering JPEGs.
