camera seems completely messed, and need help

this camera when i put it on, it goes to initial settings, and I cannot finish the settings. i cannot take pictures, and i cannot take the camera off. is there any way to reformat the camera, or update the firmware?

Here is the site for all of the firmware updates, and it appears that the T10 has not had a firmware update. I would try calling Pentax, and if the camera is still under warranty they might be able to send you a new one or take the old one in for repair, because it sounds like a manufacturers defect. Under Set up there is also a reset option, which returns the camera's software back to the original settings, so try that as well before you call them.
