Rosanna. One thing you may want to try is the way you are shooting your pictures. On thing that contributes to blur is camera shake which can come from pushing the shutter down all at once and then waiting for the shutter lag as the camera focuses and then shoots the picture. Some cameras shutter lag is intolerable. But there are ways to defeat it. Try prefocusing and panning with the action. You can do this by pressing down the shutter half-way to lock in the focus. Then, pan with the action. And if you have to refocus, just release the shutter and the press down half way again. Then, when you're ready to take the picture, just push down the rest of the way. By doing this, you are eliminating the need of the camera to focus (since it already has) and you can cut your shutter delay by as much as 80%. Using faster ISO settings will also help.

I'd also try using your flash, even in day light. Flash will freeze the action and make your subject "pop" in the photo.

Also, reset your camera. This is a fairly easy procedure which involves either going into your setup menu and choosing "reset" (or intialize), holding down the menu key for 5 seconds, or, removing the batteries for a few minutes. It may be that the firmware loading got corrupted and the camera just needs to be "rebooted," which is something that turning it on/off won't accomplish. But after which, you should have the camera reset to factory default settings.

Another tip is to go to the Pentax website and look for firmware updates. Download and install them.
Good luck.
