Planned Obsolescence Stinks

(Greg Ulrich - 10/16/09)

The camera itself took mediocre pictures even with the external flash. This is due, I suspect, to a poor quality lens and CCD. I have been photographing for years so it is not user error. The picture quality my wife's Canon takes is far superior. I now get errors which shuts the camera down and renders it useless. Sealife no longer supports the camera nor does it do repairs so essentially I can do nothing but throw it and the waterproof housing away. $550 is a steep price to pay for a camera that will only last a few years. As a consolation I was offered $50 toward the purchase of a new Sealife camera from the manufacturer. Do yourself a favor and go with a trusted and ubiquitous brand name camera such as Canon.
