Are the lenses that fit my old Minolta film camera (SRT201) compatible with the Alpha DSLR-A100?

I'm not sure what an A-type mount is which fits the new Sony Alpha. I would be ecstatic to find out I have all the lenses I need to go with a new camera. I hope that Minolta didn't change their lens coupling design since the 1970s. Anybody know?

Yes they are. Sony took over Minolta/Konica's camera business and I believe it uses the same lens moutn. Worst case, you only get to use them on manual. (especially those 70s lenses)

Take your lenses in to a camera store that have them try it. They might be able to confirm (or exclude) the possibility. Please let us know how it turns out. Larry

Thanks, Larry. I did that at one local store, but they didn't have any. The clerk told me she thought the camera could only be purchased online, but it might not be true. I'll check around at other local stores and see. We don't have a large city here, but I might luck out. I agree with your approach to this problem.

James, if you're right, I can live with manually adjusting the lenses. Cheaper than shelling out large bills for new automatic ones. I'm going to cross my fingers that they fit at all. Thanks for your encouragement.

Well, all right then! Thanks, James. I'll do some more investigating and get back.
