Condensation can happen just by the camera being around a moisture source. It doesn't have to be drenched by anything. But there's a way to take it out ...

A Washington Post reporter who accidentally dropped his Blackberry in the toilet was able to retrieve it and dry it out to working order again: by leaving it turned off in a bowl of uncooked rice. Reader Chris writes in to say:

There's a grain of truth (punny, huh?) to this in that rice quickly sucks up the surrounding moisture. Make sure the environment is free from excess humidity, drop the wet device in a container of rice and let it sit. For a better desiccant, it'd be a good idea to store all those little silica gel packets that come in anything from shoe boxes to moisture-sensitive gadgets.

You can buy that desiccant stuff at the hardware store. Then place it along with the camera inside a heavy duty Zip-lock bag (not the sandwich kind). Leave it several days with batteries out and everything on the camera open that will open.

I had Kodak nullify my warranty (as well as Staples, they sold me the basic extended, which was nothing better.) claiming the camera had been exposed to moisture.. The camera was never exposed to rain, or any type of moisture, but after awhile, the pictures & display became Purple instead of white, while video & pictures developed a "Static Raster" (several horizontal lines, like Old TV sets used to suffer.) They claimed moisture had gotten in, and destroyed the CPU & the image sensor. The camera was no more than 4 months old! It has since been replaced, but has anyone else had Kodak refuse warranty on the 1285 because of this?
