I have the a100 and a HVL-F35AM flash unit. I can't get the flash to do anything at all. Can anyone help me to get the two set up to work together? T

I've referred to the manuals for both the camer and the flash and can't get any flash at all when the shutter is activated....please help before I have to send the flash back. Thanks.

There should be settings in the menu of the A100 to sync up with an external flash, which should theoretically fix your problem. I would definitely call Sony to make sure the two are compatible, because I know it is compatible with the newer Sony flash. Also try doing some test flashes on the flash itself to make sure everything is working properly. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the answer. It ends up that the flash is defective and is on its way back to the vendor.
I took it into a local camera store where we slid it onto a pair of other Sony a100 models and it failed
to respond in any case.

I was disappointed, but will have another on its way soon.
