I have a Minolta Maxxum 5 . The camera is broken but the lenses still work.

I am trying to find a Sony Dslr that would fit. What would you advise me to buy? Thank you. The 70-300 lens works also but it seems to have lost its auto focus function

Every Sony SLR can accept Minolta lenses.

Agreed. Sony inherited and improved upon the Minolta design. As such, you can use the Minolta lenses on SONY DSLRs. Worst case is that you may lose some or all of the auto functions. But you should be able to auto focus with it.

"Every Sony SLR can accept Minolta lenses. " That is wrong. It depends how old the lens is. Must be bayonet-A! Minolta-lenses from beginning of the 80´s and older does not work in Sony Alpha!
