SONY WILL FIX FOR FREE
(Boobah - 8/10/06)We had this camera for 3.5 years and the screen went black. Sony will fix for free ...this is a known problem with its digital and camcorders. Will also fix the cameras with the washed out photos. The link is http://esupport.sony.com/perl/news-item.pl?mdl=DSCF717&news_id=118. Wish I could contact those who have complained of this issue. Hope this helps. This camera does take great photos.
