How long the DSC-F717 CCD Sensor will servive? It will depend on what: a # of shots or any other factors?

Some people say that this sensor will malfunction, if you anaccurately connect or download your camera into a PC, or shake it abruptly, or use inproper downloading cord to a PC? or, probably, to some other unknown reasons. Thank you.

Well i have heard of many reasons why a sensors gets worn out, perhaps it is due to number of pictures but long story short they seem to last at most 3 years before things start going wrong. It is shame that they dont last longer. I have never hear of computer connection having any affect on the sensor. Make sure your camera has the latest firmware downloaded, but other than that if it is old and it started acting up it best to invest in a new model as oppose to repairing.
