My F717 has gone Dark what is the problem? When I turned it ON nothing happens? When I charge it no light? I even got a new Bat. for it still no power

I even tried to RESET it NADA...HELP please

Check your battery contacts. Dirt and grime can obscure the connection. A simple pencil eraser can clean them off.

Well, being that the camera is 6 years old, it's probably your battery then. Even if you think you've charged it, LiOn batteries lose capacity over time - almost from the very beginning. And then there's the number of times it's been charged. I'm betting that after 6 years, the combination of the two has made that battery to the point where it doesn't have enough capacity to operate the camera.

I GOT THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY SONY F717 JUST DID IT OUT OF NO WHERE. HAS TO BE INTERNAL MAY SOME SMALL CAPACITOR THAT ALLOW POWER TO GO THROUGH BECAUSE I GET NOTHING FROM BATTERY OR CHARGER. DOES ANYONE KNOW FOR CERTAIN. THANKS

Hey all thanks for all the help I finally sent my F717 to SONY and they fixed it for me at no Charge and it's true..... it was an internal problem that had to do with the Capacitor and according to Sony if anyone has that problems with their F717 they will fix it for free all you have to pay is $15.00 for shipping and return.... Enjoy
