My DSC 717 has a technical problem and does not show objects but only black shade in both view finder and LCD. Even the shot comes completely black.

Well, you could reset it. See if there's a firmware update. But frankly, a year to a digital camera is kind of like a year to a dog if you remember that old addage. After 6 years, it's time to get a new camera. Pre-programmed obscolesence is such a nice thing, isn't it?
