Have the same problem. Took to camera store and told it would cost $164 to fix. Right now looking for a new camera.

First DSC-P200 I bought got black spots in pictures in less than a year. I took it to a reputable dealer to have lens cleaned. I was told it was a internal, electrical problem. I couldn't afford to have it fixed, so I bought another, new P200. A year later, I've got the same problem. I wouldn't recommend buying a SONY camera now. I can't be the only one that has had problems like this, and with TWO cameras?

To test your camera, put on "P" mode, face a light colored wall, take picture while moving camera with a small shake (Flash should fire). Then, preview picture on screen. YOU'LL SEE BLACK SHADOWY DOTS, often more than one, different sizes and always in the same place. I see black spots on my pictures anytime I take a horizon shot with sky in frame. Lucky for me, I have PhotoShop, and can fix most problems.

Maybe that's why you can buy this camera for twenty bucks on Ebay!
