Will work in charger, won't work when you take it out,tried new battery

Yo im having the same problem, The camera works fine when i plug it into the mains takes pics I can up/download them to my PC but when I remove the Mains connection and put a battery in nothing happens. So I went and bought a new battery and charged it over night and nothing happened, the green fullycharged light never came on, and The camera wont turn on. This is so frustrating, the SONY shop in BELFAST sayed that it would be 40POUNDS just to look at it and it will cost a minimun of 65POUNDS to repair, surely there is some GENIUS out there who can fix this easily. PS I reset my camera about 5million times. please help

same problem here does any one knz what is this problem as i just bought it and the charging light wont turn on i can still exchange or refund it plz let me know thanks

shayk... Return it 100%, The sony service cost 114£ GBP. Mine is never going to be working again!. Just do a reset. clean the contacts on the battery and take it to a\sony store and act dumb! then return it . Im very dissapointed with the situation
