Sony DSC p52 uses memory sticks wich can only be used on Sony cameras while other cameras may be using SD cards, compact flash cards, MMC cards or xD cards.
The additional Memory Sticks that you will be buying will be accepted by other Sony cameras but not other makes of camera.
