Camera says no memory stick (The stick is fine) What is wrong?

Sony CyberShot DSC-P52 Took pictures today and when I went to down load them the camera says no memory stick. The stick is fine as it works in another camera and my pictures are all there. What happened to my camera?

Is it a pretty new memory stick? It may be too large, or too fast, for this camera to recognize. The other problem may be that sometimes when you switch the sticks between cameras (without erasing and formatting in between) it gets weird and doesn't recognize them since the photos on the stick were taken with a different camera. If you tell me what stick it is, I can look and see if it's compatible with your camera.

The stick is the same one that has been in the camera for over a year and has worked just fine. The stick had not been removed when the camera started telling me that there was no memory stick. The stick is a 256mb Lexar. I put another memory stick in after the truble started just to see what would happen and I had the same results. No Memory Stick.

Strange. I would reset the camera (there should be either a button on the bottom or else a 'restore factory defaults' setting in the menus. It may just need a fresh start. Let me know if that doesn't help.
