Sounds like an issue with your memory card; worse, it could be that the camera isn't 'communicating' well with the card. But assuming it's the card, I recommend trying another card - maybe you can borrow one from a friend - in the camera to see if it works OK. If that works, then you need to buy a new card, and then figure out if you want to go through the trouble of getting your pictures off the 'bad' card. I believe there are services you can find online that will do this for you, for a decent fee, of course.
