Did Take Beautiful Pictures, Now Lens WIll Not Deploy

Wow, I should have read the reviews regarding this camera prior to purchase. It does (oops-did) take wonderful pictures. However, after about a year and a few months of use, the lens started making clicking noises, gave me an E error. Still worked for a month or so, even reset- etc. NOw the darn thing does not work. I am now reading the numerous reviews regarding the malfucting len deploying. Is Sony providing any help to keep customers happy?????????
