Hit and Miss Focus

I haven't had any major problems with this camera except for the auto focus. In "low" light (a room with a 100 watt light bulb) it won't focus reliably. I have the same problem outdoors on occasion. It's impossible to tell if you have a problem until you upload the images and by then, of course it's too late. I like to use it when I take pictures in the back country of the Sierras. I have gotten spectacular results on occasion. I have printed images up to 24 X 36 (I have a large format printer) and they had an amazing amount of clarity and detail for a 5MP camera. It's small and light weight so it's ideal to hike with. I just wish it was more consistent. I'm thinking about moving up to a Nikon D50 at this point.
