My Sony DSC-P92 camera has these colorful vertical streaks now. So the pictures come out elongated with streaks, how do I get rid of this?

I have had the camera about three years now. I tried replacing the batteries. It even shows this way when the memory card is removed.

Hi Adriana,
There's a chance you might be affected by the faulty CCD sensors that are plaguing a lot of digital cameras produced a few years ago. Your camera is on the possibly-affected list; if this is the problem, you should be able to get a free repair from Sony. Please go here and check out the pictures they show; if that looks like the problem you're having, then chances are it's a faulty CCD and you should contact Sony for free repairs.

Yes, me too - in fact my experience is exactly what you describe, the photos are like an Edward Monch Painting (Google "The Scream" if this isn't familiar)... But we (Brenda above and Sony) bring good news, the link you'd want to use is shown below in the message from someone else, I'm pasting here for your reference, your certainly seeing this exact same thing as me, the CCD sensor panel FUBAR:
----------------------------- post from the reviews section -----------------------
But fortunately recently Sony has offered to repair free any of these devices that have the problems they describe in their post at the following site:

http://esupport.sony.com/perl/model-news.pl?mdl=DSCP92&LOC=3

I wouldn't recommend this camera to someone who does high-volume and to have to deal with the CCD breaking due to humidity conditions in Florida...well....at least they are fixing it.
