It has very advanced features that you pay for and hardly use, espesially as a beginner. I would recommend an eralier DSC 717 or even 707 that you can get cheaply.

Plese try Sony's DSC-H5 (an upgrade of DSC-H1 and DSC-H2) ? it's a remarkable point and shoot digicam for hobbyist yet with some advance features that a pro needs. Not convince? Read reviews on DSC-H5 from those who have owned one.
