You might try the Sony DSC-R1 as well. It has twice the megapixel count as the Sony DSC-H1. It will get you clearer resolution.
To answer your questions though:
- The macro mode does go down to 2cm
- There is a varied white balance specification, but no custom setting
- It does not look to have an aperture dependent mode though
The Sony DSC-R1 matches up differently though:
- Macro mode from 35 millimeters to infinity
- Manual exposure settings with EV indicator
- Also has a One Push White Balance Adjustment: -3/+3, by step
