why are the pictures blurred?

Suddenly, all pictures appear blurred on viewfinder and actual pictures. My camera is less than 2 years old. What shall I do? The camera appears completely unusable.

Have you been experimenting or changing camera modes lately? Have you checked to make sure that the lens isn't being obscured by dirt or grime? Can you tell me anything else about the current state of your camera, has it been dropped recently or damaged in any way? Any info you can give will be helpful.

That is very curious. The camera is otherwise in very good state.
I did not drop or damage it in any way.
I thought of cleaning the lens. It did not change a thing.
I thought that I may have changed a mode or something which resulted in the defect. But all attempt to reset did not produce any better result. I still hope that I can get a reverse of the situation.

Some people had told me about occurence of bad or blurred colors on pictures for that type of camera. But until this happenned to me I was only experimenting the known problems like "Red Eyes", "Poor vision in the LCD monitor at night". Otherwise the pictures were clear and of fairly acceptable quality. Now all of a sudden, all and every attempt to take a picture, be it during the day or at night, is a failure. Pictures appear blurred and smeared already on the LCD monitor. And then on the picture taken. Please, help!

This sounds like it may be a mechanical issue with the camera. You will most likely want to contact Sony Tech Support to see if they can offer you a repair or other solution.

It sounds like you're having the same problem I am. I found out that it's a problem with the CCD (image sensor) and it's a wide spread problem, not only with Sony products.

Go here:

If this is what's going on with yours they'll fix it for free.
Good luck.

Thanks so much! My camera starting becoming blurry this morning! Thanks for the info. I'm glad I found it cause I was going to pay to get it fixed. Sony stated that if this is the problem they will still fix it for free!
Yeah!
