When you connect the sony to your computer via a USB cord supplied with the camera, the computer operating system should recognize the camera as a storage device just like your computer disk drive. Microsoft xp computers have an automatic camera wizard that also helps you copy the pictures, but the camera can be accessed just like a usb drive with windows explorer.
