Hi Harlan,

If your camera is still under warranty with Sony (usually a 1 to 2 year limited warranty), you can likely get it repaired for free (you'll pay shipping) if you can prove that the crack in the screen didn't come from physical mishandling (aka dropping it, stepping on it, hitting it with a hammer). If it did come from you manhandling it, or if you're out of warranty, you can still ask Sony for a repair, but it will likely cost you an arm and a leg. What I'd do is get a repair quote from Sony, then shop the job around to local camera shops and see if you can strike a deal with any of them. If not, you can always ship it off to the official Sony repair center.

You can access the Sony repair request page here.

Good luck!
