Using the DSC-V1 without a Memory Stick . Is it possible ?

Is it possible to use the Sony DSC-V1 without a Memory Stick (MS) and just save the pictures to an external memory device linked to the V1 through the USB ?
Im asking this because I currently have access to a DSC-V1 but unfortunately I have no MS around and would just need to be able to take pictures one at a time and save them to my laptop one at a time.
I do have a connection cable to link up my laptop to the V1 but when I do the screen becomes blue and it seems I cant get anything from the V1. Nothing happens no matter what I do.

Hi Aziz,

Since the V1 has no on-board flash memory, and since I'm pretty sure you can't save direct to your computer in the way you describe, I think you're pretty much out of luck unless you can get your hands on a Memory Stick sometime soon.

Sorry!
