The problems you describe are typical of a weak or run-down battery. Do you charge this battery by plugging the charge adapter into the camera? If so, you could try to operate the camera with the A/C cord attached, to see if that corrects the problems.
It may be that your Lithium-Ion battery is worn out; is your camera about 3 years old?
