Good Outdoor Camera

( - 1/20/06)

I have owned my W1 for 2 years now, and have had many good experiences with it, and have taken countless thousands of pictures with it. In good light or tripod mounted the camera takes beautifull pictures. However, in dim light situations such as indoor weddings, parties, etc.. the camera takes a long time to focus, and often the shot is missed or comes out horribly blurry. I had to have it serviced the first year when the CCD became dirty after several camping trips, and exposure to the humidity on a trip to Ireland (this is seen as dark spots in all your pictures). Recently the battery door broke, so I need to order the replacement part# 1-756-483-01 from partstore.com. I really like the manual capabilities of the camera, however I would have appreciated the ability to control the EV settings in manual mode. The camera has a very quick response in good light (the reason I bought it). It can be overly complicated to set up for those seeking a simple point and click. I have really enjoyed my camera but as others have said it is not the best for the simple point and click or indoor party camera.
