Does anyone have a copy of the repair manual for the Sony DSC-W1 ? Having the same battery compartment door problem everyone else is having.

You can buy a copy here for about $10. I've also seen them on ebay.

I've uploaded the service manual (with other useful infos) on TurboUpload web site.
These documents are what u need to dismantle your DSC-W1_W12

Look into the zipped file and u'll see the password used as title (name) of a text file.... Otherwise, lurk my previous posts on this forum (on the other questions, actually) and u'll able to find the pwd

Bad file or bad download. If you can't redownload it and unzip it, I'd contact tech support and ask them to email it to you directly. I've had that problem and they're always willing to do so.

Big thanks to Hal9000 for the service manual. It works. For unzip i use WinZip 11.1 with other software it's imposibble.
Thank you again. Now i can clean my CCD.

I checked "my" link some seconds ago: it works very well.
Then I downloaded the file and extracted everything using the given password ("Sonysucks!"). And again, it worked very well!

DSC-W1 owner:

yes, you're right, I used winzip11, recently upgraded to 11.1
