sony W1, battery compartment replacement

I have just replaced the whole battery compartment. It took a good two hours to do this. However, I put it all back together and find that when it is on picture view it's fine, but when I turn the control to take a picture, it will power off. I've stripped it down, no front or back case and it works when the strap from the case to a circuit board is not attached. As soon as I attache it, it powers off again. It seems to me that it is shorting out, but why? This strap should be attached. If anybody can help, it would be much appreciated, it's consuming my whole weekend!

Yes, thanks for that. It's shorting somewhere. But why? It wasn't before.
